Wills and Powers of Attorney

WILL ONLY
For one person: $300.00, plus 13% HST, for a total of $339.00
For two people: $450.00, plus 13% HST for a total of $508.50 (2nd one for partner made at the same time)

CONTINUING POWER OF ATTORNEY FOR PROPERTY & PERSONAL CARE POWER OF ATTORNEY (If drafted at the same time as a Will)
For one person: $150.00, plus HST
For two people: $225.00, plus HST

REVISED WILLS & POWERS OF ATTORNEY
To revise a Will originally drafted by Lawrence Pascoe, the fee is $200.00 plus HST for the first Will and $125.00 plus HST for second revised Will of partner made at the same time, provided the change is minor enough to discuss over a telephone consultation.
If there is a very minor change to the Will, it may be accomplished by a Codicil (a legal document that only sets out changes in the Will). The client may consider doing the codicil themselves following the precedents set out in Lawrence Pascoe's article "Changing Your Will".

If revising the Powers of Attorney at the same time, there is a discount applied to the cost of the Powers of Attorney. Therefore, to revise the Will and Powers of Attorney for one person, the cost is $300.00, plust 13% HST, for a total of $339.00. To revise the Wills and Powers of Attorney for two people, the cost is $450.00, plus 13% HST for a total of $508.50. If the revised Will is due to a marriage, and there are no changes, then the cost will be $200, plus 13% HST for a total of $226.00 for one person, which includes new Powers of Attorney, or $300 plus 13% HST for a total of $339.00 for a couple.

REVISING POWERS OF ATTORNEY WITHOUT A WILL

if revising the Powers of Attorney only, and not the Wills, the cost for one person is $175 plus 13% HST for a total of $197.75, and the cost for two people is $250 plus 13% HST for a total of $282.50.

FULL PACKAGE: 2 WILLS, 2 CONTINUING POWERS OF ATTORNEY FOR PROPERTY, 2 PERSONAL CARE POWERS OF ATTORNEY
For a couple obtaining Wills, Continuing Powers of Attorney for Property and a Personal Care Powers of Attorney the total cost would be $675.00 plus 13% HST for a total of $762.75.

For one person obtaining a Will, Continuing Power of Attorney for Property and Personal Care Power of Attorney, the total cost would be $450.00 plus 13% HST for a total of $508.50.

POWERS OF ATTORNEY WITHOUT A WILL AT THE SAME TIME
One Personal Care Power of Attorney and one Continuing Power of Attorney for Property: $250.00 plus 13% HST for a total of $282.50.
Two Personal Care Powers of Attorney and two Continuing Powers of Attorney for Property: $375.00 (2nd one for partner made at the same time) plus 13% HST for a total of $423.75.

MATRIMONIAL CLIENTS INTERESTED IN PREPARING WILLS

If Matrimonial clients would like Wills and Powers of Attorney prepared by Lawrence Pascoe within six months of closing the matrimonial file, they will be offered the reduced rate of $375 plus 13% HST for a total of $423.75 for an individual, or $575 plus 13% HST for a total of $649.75 for a couple.

** Prices quoted are for relatively standard Wills which do not necessitate more than a 60 minute consultation for a couple, or a 40 minute consultation for a single person. A standard Will does not involve sophisticated drafting. If this is required, an extra charge based upon my hourly rate of $300 plus 13% HST will be charged. This very rarely occurs.
There are extra charges for Multiple Wills and Testamentary trusts each being at the same cost as stated above for Wills.
